In the fourth episode of his behind the scenes video series, “Toe Jam”, Justin announces the upcoming release of his new song, “Back Where I Belong”. And as with each of his previous song releases, this inspirational-themed pop/rock ballad will also be accompanied by a music video.
“This will definitely be the most cinematic of any of the videos so far,” said Justin. “The script for it is essentially a short film.”
A short synopsis of the video:
Dustin, a high school basketball star with offers to major college programs, suffers devastating injuries in a car crash. Facing a post-accident lifestyle that is a complete reversal of the perfect world he was used to, the young man finds himself losing hope as he goes down the long road of rehab, starting with the process of learning to walk again. He finds inspiration from his family and from remembering his lifelong love of the game. With a newfound focus on something even bigger than the basketball star dream that was taken away from him, he eventually surpasses expectations on his rehab and attempts a miraculous comeback to the court.
The video was filmed over a two day period in late February at several sites around the Nashville area. And the newest “Toe Jam” video (see the link below) includes behind the scenes footage of the actors and crew. “We had a great time making this!” said Justin. “And literally within about a week or so after we finished the filming, things in Nashville started to shut down from the virus. We were fortunate on the timing – one week later and it might not have happened. So I’m thankful for that. And I think maybe this is the type of song and story that’s especially good to hear right now with the craziness going on around us all – it’s about keeping hope and faith when things around us take a turn for the worse.”
Besides delving behind the scenes of the new song and video, the newest Toe Jam also features some impromptu music as well as the announcement of new interactive features for “Toe Jam” viewers to be able to submit questions and song requests.
